Help RunningWorks GIVE GOOD this holiday season!

The holiday season is just around the corner, and the RunningWorks Team is inviting you to join us in kicking it off with #GivingTuesdayCLT Presented by Wells Fargo and powered by SHARE Charlotte.

#GivingTuesdayCLT (Nov. 20-27) is Charlotte’s local response to the global #GivingTuesday movement. Occurring this year on November 27, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick off the holiday giving season and inspired people to collaborate in improving their local communities by giving back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Program Update: Lotus Housing Pilot is a major success for RW Team

Since 2012, RunningWorks has been dedicated to the cause of reducing homelessness in our community.

We have seen firsthand how the need for more affordable housing in Charlotte has reached a critical level as housing costs continue to outpace wages for low-income renters.

Partner Spotlight: Trinity Partners is committed to building stronger communities in Carolinas

The team at Trinity Partners has stepped up in a major way for the RunningWorks Team this year. In addition to sponsoring our annual 12-Hour Run to End Homelessness in June, Trinity Partners also came aboard as the title sponsor for our annual event, Metamorphosis 2018: The Social Butterfly Experiment. This year’s event was held September 22 at LaCa Projects.

Get Involved: Share Charlotte Encouraging the local community to do some good!

The Charlotte community has a well-earned reputation for being among the most charitable communities in the nation.

According our friends at Share Charlotte, local residents completed an incredible 1,076,837 acts of GOOD during last year’s annual #GivingTuesdayCLT campaign. That’s a significant number because it coincides with Mecklenburg County’s estimated population for 2018. RunningWorks celebrates 6 years of serving the Carolinas

This spring, RunningWorks reached a major milestone. We celebrated our sixth anniversary!

The organization was founded by Meredith Dolhare (pictured above) on April of 2012 with 12 members. Flash-forward to 2018, that one program has now grown to five programs serving approximately 150 individual participants of all ages each week and over 450 annually. Partner Spotlight: Genesis Project 1 helping provide mental health services and counseling

Of the hundreds of individuals considered chronically homeless in our community, more than 84 percent report dealing with mental health issues that are often left untreated. That means for every 10 people who walk through our doors, an average of 8 or 9 need assistance addressing issues of mental health.

Big Changes are in store for Metamorphosis 2018

This year, RunningWorks announced a major change to the format of its annual Metamorphosis event with The Social Butterfly Experiment.

This new initiative pairs 8 community leaders with team members for one-on-one mentorships. The Social Butterflies and their mentees are teaming up to fundraise and bring awareness to issues of poverty, homelessness and food insecurity in the Carolinas.
